  • The proposed liner or factory-made chimney system identified

Deciding whether Stovax Stockton 8 Wood Burning Stove fits the brief

The Stockton 8 is for genuinely large rooms, knocked-through spaces and homes with high ceilings, where a 5kW stove would never get on top of the room.

The double door version gives a wider, more symmetrical face, which tends to suit a bigger inglenook.

Before quotation

What to settle before specifying Stovax Stockton 8 Wood Burning Stove

At this output the room usually needs a permanent air supply, and the hearth and flue have to suit the stove. We confirm all of it at the home survey rather than assuming.

Unlike the smaller Stockton sizes, the Stockton 8 is not listed for a 12mm decorative hearth, so plan for a constructional hearth.

An honest steer

How it compares with similar models

Choose the Stockton 8 when the room is large. The Stockton 5 and 5 Wide cover most standard living rooms at 5kW.

Single doors and double doors are options on the same stove, not separate models. The old site listed the double door version separately.

Fitting it locally

Common questions

Questions to check about Stovax Stockton 8 Wood Burning Stove

What is the difference between the single and double door Stockton 8?

It is the same stove with a different door arrangement. The double door version has a wider, more symmetrical face. You choose when the order is placed.

Is an 8.3kW stove right for my room?

Only if the room is large enough. An oversized stove ends up run too slowly, which is bad for the glass, the flue and the emissions. We size it properly at the home survey.
