Each hub groups the TFS records for that brand and identifies details that must be checked at model level. A listing does not by itself establish dealer status, display stock or immediate supply.

Ventilation is calculated for the appliance and dwelling
Some listed stoves offer a manufacturer-designed external-air connection, but the feature is model-specific and needs the correct components and route. It must not be inferred from the brand name or treated as a universal substitute for the ventilation assessment.
Approved Document Jrelates permanent air supply to the appliance output and the dwelling's measured or assumed air permeability. The exact model instructions and any extract fans also matter, so the opening and air route are specified from the property evidence rather than a simple age-of-house rule.
From catalogue to specification
Output is one constraint, not the whole decision
Room volume is a starting point. Insulation, glazing, air movement, other heat sources and how the space is occupied all affect the heat demand, while the fireplace and chimney constrain which appliance can be installed safely.
The assessment should record those conditions and compare them with the declared operating range of the exact stove. Finish and door style can then be chosen from the technically suitable shortlist.
Ecodesign information and smoke-control exemption are not interchangeable. Check both against the exact product, and use only the fuels and operating conditions permitted by its documents. OurDEFRA and smoke control guideexplains the distinction, while GOV.UK's current smoke-control guidance advises asking the local council whether an address is inside a smoke control area.
For installation, the written scope should connect the chosen appliance to the hearth, opening, air supply and complete chimney route. TFS currently states that it uses HETAS-registered installation; customers should verify the current registration before booking.

Can a wood-burning stove be fitted without a masonry chimney?
Potentially. A compatible factory-made insulated chimney may provide a route through the building or externally. The appliance instructions, terminal position, structural support, clearances, appearance and any planning constraints need to be assessed before a route is promised.
How is a wood-burning model different from a multi-fuel model?
A dedicated wood-burning appliance and a multi-fuel appliance have different approved fuels and firebed arrangements. Use the exact manufacturer instructions and, in a smoke control area, the appliance exemption and permitted-fuel conditions rather than relying on the family name.
What is included in an installation quotation?
The written scope should name the appliance and options, hearth or fireplace work, connecting pipe, liner or chimney system, labour, access assumptions, exclusions and compliance route. Published product prices remain unchanged; the property-specific installation work is quoted separately.
How should I check the HETAS claim?
TFS currently states that its solid-fuel installation work is HETAS registered. Before booking, check the current business and individual installer registration through the official HETAS installer search. Eligible work completed through that competent-person route can be notified to the local authority and supported by a Certificate of Compliance.
