Deciding whether ACR Oakdale Multifuel Stove fits the brief
The Oakdale suits smaller sitting rooms and cottages where the fireplace opening is genuinely tight. At 440mm wide it is the narrowest of the ACR cast iron stoves, so it goes into openings that would rule out the Rowandale or Ashdale.
It is the one to look at if you want the traditional cast iron look and the option of burning smokeless fuel as well as wood, but you do not have the room for a bigger stove.

Choose the Oakdale when the opening is narrow and 5kW is enough. If the fireplace is wider and you want a bigger flame picture, the Rowandale gives you a 555mm panoramic window and takes 40cm logs. If the room is larger, step up to the 7kW Ashdale.
The Oakdale is multifuel. If you only ever plan to burn wood, the dedicated Larchdale burns cleaner, but it is a much bigger 9kW stove for a much bigger room.
