Derby

The project

Derby is a historic city and unitary authority area in Derbyshire, lying along the banks of the River Derwent. Located in the East Midlands, it sits roughly 30 miles north of our showroom and an easy drive along the A38.

When I called to carry out our free home survey, our client had just moved into their new home in Derby and were eager to get started on transforming the living space. They wanted a room that felt sleek and contemporary while retaining a warm, inviting atmosphere at its core. To achieve this, we designed a focal chimney breast featuring a clean plaster finish, an oak mantel beam, and a recessed stove opening clad at the rear in light slate split-face tiles. Complemented by layered textures, warm accent lighting, and a plush circular rug, the finished installation perfectly bridges modern design with cozy comfort, delivering a stunning centerpiece tailored to the property.

The work

What we did

An External Twin Wall Insulated Flue Explanation

An external twin-wall insulated flue system is the ideal solution for properties without an existing brick chimney, allowing a stove to be installed safely almost anywhere in the home. Calculated during our initial home survey through precise measurements, each flue run is tailored to the building's geometry to ensure optimal draw and full safety compliance. Once the layout is confirmed, our team specifies and orders the exact modular components needed for a seamless installation. Supplied with a durable, hard-wearing powder-coated black finish as standard, the external pipework creates a sleek, contemporary aesthetic that complements both modern and traditional exteriors while standing up to the elements.
