Kitchen living area transformation ยท Ashbourne
A Hunter Isca 7 and full brick fireplace
An Ashbourne installation pairing a Hunter Isca 7 woodburning stove with a full brick fireplace, matching brick hearth and chamber, and a reclaimed natural oak beam.

Ashbourne
The project
Opening a second showroom in Ashbourne would be a natural and strategic expansion, given its position as a bustling gateway to the Peak District and the surrounding rural countryside. The town's vibrant mix of period properties, rural conversions, and active home improvement market makes it an ideal fit for high-quality stove installations and custom fireplace designs.
The client wanted something a special for their kitchen living area which was to include a shaker style kitchen in a heritage colour and a porcelain floor with stone appearance. We always try to excel, and we realised form the initial discussion with the client that we needed a bold statement within the chimney breast and large open space.

The work
What we did
The finished installation centres on a Hunter Isca 7 woodburning stove. Brick-and-a-half facing returns form the fireplace, with a matching brick hearth, chamber and base bringing the composition together.
A solid reclaimed natural oak beam, sourced from a local barn and recorded as around 300 years old, completes the fireplace. The chimney specification includes vitreous offset flue pipe, a steel closure plate and adaptor, a 316-grade Triple Lock British flexible stainless steel chimney liner, and an anti-downdraught cowl.

Registration check
Verify Our HETAS Details Before Booking
When booking your stove installation with The Fireplace & Stove Co (TFS) or any installer, verifying registration details through the official HETAS directory ensures your project is fully compliant:
- Verify Business & Installer Status: Search the official HETAS online register to confirm that both the business and the individual attending engineer hold active, current registrations.
- Check Work Categories: Ensure the installer is specifically registered for your required work type (e.g., dry solid fuel appliance installation, internal twin-wall flue systems, or flexible chimney relining).
- Confirm Building Control Route: Work completed by a HETAS-registered competent person allows for self-certification under Building Regulations, saving you the time and expense of applying directly to your local council's Building Control department. If any part of the project falls outside their registered scope, a separate Building Control application must be arranged before work begins.
